Purpose
The Belmont-Carlton Neighborhood Association was established in 1980 for the distinct purpose of identifying and advocating for needs of the community. The association works with various City departments and community groups to ensure progress is made on neighbrhood desires. We can help connect residents with the people, resources, and energy they can use to help realize their goals for the neighborhood.
BCNA has been successful in many ventures including
- Receiving grants for sidewalk and drainage improvements
- Establishing Neighborhood Watch Programs.
- Guiding the renovation of Clark School and the new crosswalk
- Assisting in developing plans for improving our parks
- Working with police on neighborhood safety issues
- Installing trash bins at key locations to reduce litter
- Organizing spring clean-up days
Current activities include
- an Oral History project
- planning for a bicycle safety event and free helmet giveaway
- spring clean-up 2006
- the next round of capital improvements budgeting
The Association is also working to make sure everyone knows how to connect with us and to each other with our new refrigerator magnets and email list serves.
Get involved to help us accomplish more and get your ideas on the list!
